My name is Dawn Brooks. I grew up in Mishawaka, IN. The day after I got married, I moved across the border to Niles, MI. We lived there for the next 34 years, raising our children there. In May 2021, my husband and I moved to Alaska.

The question I was asked most as we prepared to move cross-country was “But, why Alaska?”. That is where the title of my blog came. That question has many answers which will be revealed over time.

I have no set schedule on how often I will post. I am hoping at least once every couple of weeks. We shall see.
